If I needed 6 phantom powered inputs i'd just go with a Zoom R24. It's a bit bigger, but you don't need a magnifying glass to see it, either.

20 hour battery life?!

Looks like I might finally get something to replace my H2. I really like how the H6 can be used as a 6 channel audio interface. I'm impressed.

Hi Jon...

Looks impressive and the next step forward by a company which has established that high quality hand held recording doesn't have to break the bank.

I love my H4 and H4n, and see that this would be a great unit for videography. Thanks for posting the link.

Wonderful. I would go for this one easily. Zoom recorders have credibility. This H6 looks like a complete portable studio.

I had high hopes for the H4n but when I compared it to my studio rig at the time it fell short, even with an external microphone. It also had more self-noise than the Fostex FR2-LE when both used external mics.

The blurb for the H6 claims new improved quieter preamps along with the 20dB pad for improved headroom in line level applications. If early reviews confirm these improvements I'll certainly snag an H6.

I agree, I've had an H2 -and now own and use a Q3HD, only because they are portable, but both units are fiddly to use, they are great at what they do-but just that bit too small!

I've been planning on getting an H4N for awhile but figured there had to be something new in the pipeline- I'm glad I waited. I'm very interested in this; looking forward to the reviews.
