Martin Retro Monel 11s Today (April 9, 2020)
I just put a set on my CO-PA and they sound quite nice. I used to like my CH-PA a little better for tone and now the roles have reversed (the CH-PA has Elixir PB11s that were installed March 25th). I'm not sure I've got words to describe what I hear and I think it's worth the $9 to give them a try if you haven't.
I'll let you know how the comparison holds up as the Retros age.

I like Monels on my vintage Rainsong jumbo.
Seems like a good match! |

I'll add them to my list! Are they anything like D'addario nickel bronze or John Pearse pure nickels?

I have had a set of Retros on my Rainsong Smokey SMH now for the last 4 months and will be sticking with them. Sounds great and they look great on the guitar with all silver strings with the black background of the carbon fiber instead of the gold color of the PB's.

I used those on my Rainsong Shorty when I had it, and they sounded great. Wondering if they should get a go on my Sable, but it will be a while before it needs strings.

My CH-OM has been wearing Monel LJ's Choice (MLJ13 - medium/light) for around a year. They fatten up the trebles and bring out the bass a little more, which is what I was looking for on this guitar.
