Default Optima Vintage flex

Hi;I just put a set of these strings on my Larrivee. [.11-47]. I like em! real easy to play . not much volume but I can live with it. Anyone ever hear of these strings? New to me. Just took a chance. Thanks.

Yes, that is the string that I find that they are similar to as well. And, my experience is that Newtones do have more volume than the Optima.

Best,
Jayne

Good to know, the convinience of being able to get a set quickly might come in handy. The thing that has kept me from doing so is the cost. I get Newtone's direct at a better price.

Newtones are good but I have to send to UK for them. takes about 7-10 days. So i buy them in three or four sets.

Yes Ive bought 3-6 sets and seems like it takes a month but I like the product and even with shipping its cheaper than you can buy them in the states and cheaper than the OP sets.

Have ordered the 12-51 gauge. If they eliminate squeak in the bass and improve the tonal balance in the top three strings, then great. The DR Rares are not so great IMHO.

I use Newtones as well as Optima Vintage Flex. The Newtone Heritage strings play as easily as the Optima's, but they do sound a bit different. I have a very slight preference for the Optima's, and the 12's are loud enough for me.
