Default Comparison chart for Blueridge vs. Martin

Does anyone have the chart that showed the equivalent Blueridge model vs. the Martin counterpart? I think it was on Maury's site until they dropped the Blueridge line.

I thought it was a Blueridge marketing tool, but may be wrong.

I haven't seen the chart, but if you go to the Saga website and select Blueridge, you shouldn't have a problem figuring out the equivalent Martins. You can select the model you want (e.g., 000-12 fret) and tonewood, and assume they emulate 18 or 28 models.

Blueridge is still on Maury's website. They don't have many, so they might be dropping them.

Yep, Maury dropped the Blueridge line and focuses on the Martin line.
To bad. I think Blueridge are one of the best budget friendly versions of the traditional Martin sound. Not an exact copy but they get you close for less.

Maury's Music has discontinued the Blueridge line.

We're very sorry but certain situations have arisen that have pointed us in this direction. It wasn’t a decision we rushed into or have taken lightly. Combined with the fact that we`ve just been overwhelmed with the Martin side of things - it makes more sense to allocate our Blueridge budget, promotional efforts and floor space to the ever-growing Martin lineup.

We`d prefer to keep some details private between Saga and Maury`s. Thank you for understanding.

One thing to keep in mind. I was told by an Elderly guitar tech when I tried out a BG Blueridge guitar and could not get any bass out of it: That the Blueridge BG guitars were built like the Gibsons, and the Blueridge BR guitars were built like the Martins. That's what I was told anyway.

I bought a Blueridge BR-180 from Maury's about a year ago. Great on line (by phone) buying experience and great guitar. My 180 (sitka top & rosewood (pau farro) has fretboard markers similar to a D-42, but the abalone bindings more like a D-45. It has the 1 11/16" nut width while I think the D4x Martins (at least my reimagined D-41) have a 1 3/4" nut. I've found my Blueridge to have good projection with less pronounced bass compared to my Martins. The neck is small, almost electric, and I find it the easiest of my acoustics to play barre chords on. The biggest thing that bothered me was the Dalmation pickguard, so mine now has a black on.

There don't seem to be many Blueridge dealers. Musician's Friend is the only one I'm familiar with.

Right now, there is a new Blue Ridge BR-140A (Adirondack top over solid mahogany back and sides) at my favorite local dealer with a tone that'll give you goose bumps. I think its price-tag is $849. I've had a 2009 Martin D-18GE and, referencing my memory, the new local Blueridge BR-140A sounds just as good as that Martin sounded.

I'm going to go around town and try to find some cheaper alternatives to the OM28 and the D45. I like how those guitars sound, I don't need a 100% replica. At one point I started trying to get a cheaper Martin D28. I ended up getting an LL16D, which I think sounds better than the D28. I hope I find alternatives I like better to the OM28 and D45 at a significant cheaper price.

One thing to consider about buying a Blueridge is that some of the models (at least I think they are still being sold this way) use Santos rosewood for their solid back and sides.
