Default Thanks

Big thanks to Fazool and Jaymarsch for the reviews.
This is a big one for me. The Performance was my route out of the rat race of a consulting career and I have so enjoyed being a small part of "the music industry"! The Heritage is a bit of a statement... I wanted to move capos forward again and I believe the A.R.T system does that. It looks simple enough but, like many things that appear simple, I can promise you, it took a lot of working out!
I also wanted to create something beautiful. I hope we've achieved it.
Thanks again Fazool and Jayne!

This style of capo is my favorite by far. I hope they release one in Gold as well. I've always wished you could get a Elliott or Shubb Fine Tune in Gold to match Gold hardware on my guitars that have it.

Thanks for the reviews! Based on the reviews, I'd like to buy one of these, and I'm looking forward to their appearance in stores.

Thanks for the excellent and well written reviews Fazool and Jayne. I use a capo a lot with our band at church. Both acoustic and electric. Many times I have to move the capo up or down or take it off or put it on very quickly between songs. I've been using a Shubb, which has been just ok. I have to really crank it tight on some guitars to get a clean note (no buzz) but then some strings go sharp. I have a G7th capo as well but, while it is a beautifully made capo, I have not been pleased with its performance. Its been relegated to "3rd string" backup (behind the Shubb and a Dunlop capo). BUT, based on your reviews I'm going to give this Heritage a try. it is a good chunk of $ for a capo....but if it is as good as you indicate it will be worth it!

Nice job Nick. I'm unclear. Is this model is available now or are you only taking ore-orders?

I have the standard width one and I can comfortably place it where the fret board width is 2 and 1/8th" my neck shape is a modified low oval. I hope that helps.

Best,
Jayne

The standard width is just fine on my D28 1937 Authentic with a 1 3/4" nut up to the 7th fret. It'll get unto the 5th comfortably on our Takemine 12 string but the wide version will reach the 9th.

We had a small number which have all gone to IBMA... Please stop by and talk to Seamus if you're there! More are expected at the end of October.

Shawn and/or Jayne, If you've ever tried a Shubb Fine tune capo, could you compare them for us?

Thx.

Hi Nick,
I always thought you were a British company, why is this priced in dollars?

Hi Malcolm... You're not wrong.
If you go to the page for the specific capo on the website... click on "prices".
Then it should give you the option to choose your currency. If it says $USD now, click on that and you should get a drop down choice of GBP, USD or Euro.
Let me know if it doesn't work!!

While the Performance 2 adequately serves my needs, I have to say I'm pretty impressed with this capo.

I have not tried the Shubb Fine Tune so cannot compare it. I have a friend who has one and I will see if I can borrow it this week, check it out and report back.

Best,
Jayne

Hi Jeremy,

I have a couple of the Performance 2s as well and to my ears the Heritage capo has a bit cleaner tone. I think it has to do with the dial mechanism so you can really fine tune the tension and maybe also the new A.R.T. technology that allows for balanced tension across all the strings relative to the fingerboard radius. Nick can probably comment with more authority here, but to my ears, the Heritage brings out the clarity of the natural tone of the guitar a bit better than the other types of G7s. I have very good ears so sometimes I hear differences that some but not all of my guitar playing aficionado's hear. Just thought I would pass along my own experience.

Best,
Jayne
