I just got clued onto her this fall, and your post reminds me I need to listen to more of her stuff.

Thanks!

My ears would last about five minutes.

That Waterloo sounds great. When I first saw her last year, she was playing a Gibson American Eagle. Her first album, "You Never Were Much of a Dancer" is also very good.

One for you film trivia fans: Garth Mountain, just north of Cardiff, was the hill in the film "The Englishman Who Went Up A Hill But Came Down A Mountain".

I'd have to say the opening slower piece in the linked video is not reprehensive of the entire set. Of course this style of guitar music doesn't have to be for everyone.

The sound of that whole recording is very harsh. Some other recordings of her playing have a better sound.

Youtube sound doesn't do anyone any favors.

I really liked watching her play through the whole record as she did.

Is a severely out of tune guitar part of her style, or just a bonus feature?

Asking for a friend.

I'll never understand why people feel the need to express their meaningless opinion to an audience that never asked for it. It would never even occur to me to publicly disparage another musician and relatedly, those who enjoy her work.

I guess that's my own meaningless opinion that no one asked for.

There is a trend these days towards expressing opinions on discussion forums. Not everyone is going to love your favorite artist. No point in taking it personally.
