Initial impressions are that I love the sound, it has that quality in the highs that reminds me of bagpipes and doesn't crap out no matter how hard I pick/strum.

It will take me some time to get used to the shallow neck profile. Also, I will need to adjust my position because the lower bout is much bigger than I am used to and it digs into my forearm. I have the same issue playing my vintage Les Pauls, so I'm sure that it won't take me long to adjust.

Glad it worked out you and that the sound is what you were looking for.

Pretty much impossible to overdrive a Sobell - they will accomodate a very powerful right hand, no problem.

Stefan does like to build with a shallow neck, and his use of Cuban mahogany facilitates this. I once had a Model 0 whose neck was so shallow that my Shubb wouldn't work, even at the extreme of its available range.

You say it's a "butterfly" so I'm assuming its from the 90s?

Cheers,
Steve

Very sweet looking guitar. I saw a used one at Dream years ago, and the sound had some real magic to it. Still regret not picking it up. Great builder.

Enjoy.
