Just got through photographing my guitars for records a few weeks ago.
All are Larrivee Dreads. African Walnut, Austrian Walnut and Amazon Rosewood.
Can you guess which is my favorite by sight alone?

I probably cannot guess your favorite by sight alone, Knives, but they are all gorgeous. I'll take a stab and pick number three.

I'll have to remember to take a photo of my guitars this evening. I am somehow woefully bad at having nice pictures of my guitars. I guess that I spend more time playing them than looking at them though they are all pretty nice to look at!

Thanks for all the great pics that have been posted so far.

Best,
Jayne

You are absolutely right Jayne! Great guess. While all three are great, it is hard not to have a favorite.
I would not buy a guitar just because it looks good, Tone is paramount. The deciding factor is always the Tone. However it is certainly a nice perk if it looks great as well.
With that being said, I do enjoy exotic back and sides for their different tonal qualities. I do seek out the unusual for what it may offer, different than the norm. While I may gravitate towards my favorite, the differences between guitar tones will help me reach out in other writing styles.
Please photograph your guitars Jayne....can't wait to see them!

What a magnificent collection of best-in-class acoustics! Well chosen my friend. What sonic terrain can you not cover with those?

I think it's interesting how here y'all have stables of guitars, while over in that gear forum they've got arsenals of mics.
