I appreciate those comments. Most kind.

Thanks Mike. BTW it was fun putting a face with the name at BIG and getting to know you better.

Extraordinary, mesmerizing tone in the Graybeard guitar, John. This guitar has the quality of legend! And in Al Petteway's hands, it has already become a legend. I love the name, "Graybeard" too. It implies great wisdom and experience- which you and your guitars obviously possess, in spades. Man, what a treat it was to see your musical art on full display at Tom and Kathy's castle in New Braunfels! Raucous applause!
Thanks so much. That means a great deal coming from such a fine builder as yourself. It was great to see and play your guitars at BIG. I love your artistic flourishes.

Very nice, bro. Sounds amazing in Al’s capable hands. I wonder if we could coax Al off his mountain to Texas for the next BIG?

Thanks brother
I tried to coax Al into coming to this last BIG to no avail.

Maybe when the pandemic subsides. That is a big concern for him.

Thanks Paul! I am indeed over the moon and I need to lay my paws on this beast soon. Please consider LS for your next build the legend is true!

I am stoked to have a maestro build this guitar and a Grammy winner demo it for me, it was probably done on the fly, as he so often does with demos... And with this as stone cold proof if the guitar doesn't sound good in my hands I know it ain't the guitar!

I really hope to make B.I.G. (its on my bucket list, like seriously) someday.

John has been building world class instruments and its not difficult to see why he sold out! I was a little apprehensive that while we put together grail-level tonewoods the combination might not have complimented each other tonally, but John obviously knocked it out of the park!

John was immensely proud of the first notes that came out from the guitar and its staggering to think that it sounds "like that" at 1 month old. Could it get any better? Hmm...

Thanks Mr Sheriff! I definitely am a big fan of yours, the way you marry colors, tonewoods and aesthetics give a very distinctive Edwinson look... which I really admire. I will have to see and play your guitars in the flesh one day!

Thank you kind Sir, I too congratulate you on your newly acquired Graybeard. Its a beauty and has very very special adornments, truly a unique instrument which I hope to compare side by side. They were bench buddies for a good 6 months, and the first Graybeards to come out of the Kinnaird workshop.

But this does make up for it... and I am pretty much blown away.

Now I seriously can't wait to pick this up in person!

Note: The original video that was uploaded yesterday has been replaced and updated with a HD version in this post. The original video still exists on YouTube but this one is better!
Wow, congrats. What thick trebles too. Amazing tone. Enjoy it!

The guitar will be reviewed extensively for sure. But I just wanted to quickly review the handover experience, which was five-star in all regards haha.

I had a lovely meet-up with the Kinnairds. They were fun, gracious, accommodating and John is mysteriously good with chopsticks and spicy Asian sauces. We did not talk about guitars all that much, and that just goes to show how much the relationship had developed - from albeit an initial transactionary one to a very cool friendship. I am happy and privileged to call John and Barbara Kinnaird my friends!

Promise to hang out more in Asheville next.
