Default Musician friendship [emoji654] romance

Is giving my guitarist crush an engraved capo equivalent to ... roses? Jewelry? Something else? I'm asking seriously, because I'm seriously considering it!

She's a 10 but she plays guitar. That makes her a 12.

I think a capo is more equivalent to a toaster: nice to have a good one, but it is mostly a functional item, and not something that suggests a warmth of heart….even with an engraving.

But you know this gal, and I could be wrong about how a capo might be received by her….

Seems to me that would be equivalent to an engagement ring.

I'm a girl and I play guitar (kinda ) I like the capo idea IF it's a nice capo. But, I don't like the engraved name part. It's too obvious and reminds me of those miniature license plates you can buy at gift shops on racks that come with every name under the sun. I'd find a good short song lyric or something along those lines, if possible. Or the 12! Actually I like 12 a lot. One up from 11, too.
.02 and worth it

I like the 12 idea. when you give it to her ask if she wants to "Duet" sometime.

If you really love her, you'll buy her a guitar, something she's really been jonesin' for. Take her to the store and let her pick it out. My 2cents. I'm not sure what your budget is. That would be more like an engagement ring. An engraved capo is cute... but I dunno. It doesn't feel that romantic. OTOH some Charmed Life Picks, in the pretty colors with the shamrock design, definitely say I LOVE YOU!!!

Sometimes incremental steps are a smart way to evolve in a budding relationship.

Assuming she'd appreciate and have use for a capo (with or without the added sentiment), a really nice one isn't going to cost you that much or make her feel beholden to you over receiving something mad-expensive (which might be a bit overwhelming).

Her ongoing response to a thoughtful gift like a capo (assuming it's a nice one that she'll will actually want to use) might provide you with some cues/clues regarding whatever should come next. You can always escalate if things continue to flourish.

She's a crush...we are currently just friends. So a guitar is like buying her a Corvette, lol. I just want to do this and see what transpires.

Give her half a capo. When she asks what that means, show her the other half and say, “you complete me”.
Hey, stuff like that works in the movies…

I’m agreeing with dogma and Janine. So I say get her a real nice capo, without engraving, and a nice selection of CL picks with the shamrock logo. Think of the subtleties here with words like Charmed Life and the symbol of luck…

Oh, and you can always have something romantic engraved on the capo later if things proceed beyond the crush stage.
