"Opening up " is an unproved phenomenon. ergo myth.
Arch-tops sound good day one or don't same goes for flat tops unless you swallowed the jello and "opening up" has become a religion More likely : long time owner/players get used to their guitars. |

Thanks for sharing your opinion. Ironically, you have as little scientific evidence to support your contention as those who believe that they do open up and have hypotheses as to why.

I own an Andersen Oval Hole archtop that I play on a very infrequent basis. I have noticed a definite difference in the sound when I first play it after it has been in the case for awhile. A day with the tonrite changes this sound but the effect is not permanent. Can't explain what's going on but I can hear the difference.
