Default Set up question

How much do I sand off of the bottom of the saddle if I want to lower the measurement at the 12th fret by 1/32"? Thanks again.

The 12th fret is the middle of the string length, so the action there will drop by 1/2 of the amount that you lower the saddle.

Before doing anything, make sure your relief and nut slot depth are set properly. Visit http://frets.com/FretsPages/pagelist.html for info on all these parameters.

I second this. What you do at the nut has as much effect at 12 as your saddle does and generally speaking a properly cut nut is win/win (lower action without increasing buzz and improved intonation - unless it’s compensated) compared with win/lose at the saddle (lower action but likely more buzz).

remove 2/32nds to lower 1/32.
The distance from 0-12 is half way to the saddle so double it.
