Default Looking for a song... 'Low' by Catherine/Katherine Smith

Hello, it's late.

I'm looking for this song. I originally found this song about 10yrs or longer ago while looking for videos of a Lichty guitar. Haven't seen it since. I've looked but can't seem to find it anymore?

On second thought, I feel like this should be a WANTED POSTER: I'd almost pay to hear this song again.

Can anyone locate this song?

Much appreciated,
Roy Earle

Certainly there's bound to exist a quintessential Sherlocker/sluether out there who can supply the wanted information.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have tried many ways to locate the song...it's extensive. Looks like I have a list of some singers to go thru, I'll get on it.

As far as I know it was an original song. She had a fair amount of originals. And did a nice cover of Big Yellow Taxi.

The chorus for Low:

"Even though we are low right now,
We're much higher than where we started from.

Even though we are low right now,
I feel good, I feel like I'm moving."

Thats all I remember. I think I saw her having a podcast/vlogger thing going on at one point.

I've considered contacting Jay Lichty about her- he built the guitar she's playing in the videos I remember seeing, but the last time I wrote to him he said he'll get back to me...and never did. Water under the bridge so they say.

Anyway, after 5yrs or more of looking at least once a year. I'm all exhausted and stuff.

Thanks for your reply.

I did a search for Catherine on the Lichty guitars website under their blog and a video with Catherine Smith came up but it said "Private."

Could this be the same Catherine?

That's indeed most likely said Catherine Smith, one should conclude.

That's the Catherine Evelyn Smith of John Belushi association, she who acted as musical collaborator on the two songs mentioned in your BMI search (with Hoyt Axton on "Flash of Fire" and "Chasing The Dragon" with Robert Stanley Johnston).

A different search with the parameter "Catherine Smith" turned up 20 registered songs with BMI (including the two credited to Catherine Evelyn Smith), under various permutations of said name Catherine Smith--that is to say, not a few listed individuals bear a middle name. No song possesses the title "Low," though.
