Hi folks... This guitar is my “Luna” model which is my version of a triple-0. It’s been a couple of weeks now, since she was strung up, and even though she sounded good right out of the gate, she has really opened up with an absolutely beautiful sweet and mellow voice. The soundboard is made from Craig Carter sourced “Lucky Strike” Redwood, and the back/sides are an insanely flamed set of Hawaiian Koa. I typically build with a 25-1/2” scale-length and join at the 13th fret, but I wanted to try a 25” scale-length on this guitar...and I chose to join at the 12th fret so the bridge sits in the same sweet spot as my standard guitars. The bindings and bevel-cap are flamed Katalox, the purflings are flamed Maple...and I also included small blue veneer lines which I feel are a striking addition aesthetically. The rosette is Paua Abalone, as are the fret markers, Lotus inlay at the 12th fret, and the headstock logo. She sports a solid one-piece Honduran Mahogany neck, and an Ebony bridge, fingerboard & front headstock plate...with Katalox on the reverse side. You’ll also find a two-way adjustable trussrod, gold Gotoh-mini tuning machines, Evo gold fret-wire...and bone nut, saddle & bridge pins. The string spread at the saddle is 2-1/4” and the nut width is 1-3/4”...again, with a 25” scale-length and 12th-fret join. She has a modern slim “C” neck carve and the setup is low and fast. That's beautiful, Joel--what a stunner!
I selfishly hope as well that this one makes it to BIGer, but that doesn't seem likely. Someone is going to get an incredible guitar here. Still loving your bridge design!
