I only need and have one. When I had six or five or four, I naturally developed favorites and then others sat around. When I wasn’t playing then, I thought about them. And they got picked up once in a while. Then I started to like them more. So then other ones sat. It was hard to bond with any.

I have my 000-18 that I bought last December right after mom died and before the pandemic. Nothing else comes close.

Need? None. Want? As many as you can afford.

I'm not a professional player, so I need exactly zero. Through trial and error, I only need a "few" acoustic guitars. A nice DN, nice vintage OM, nice modern OM, and something small like a Taylor 12 fret. A baritone is a nice but seldom used piece. I'd eventually like a 12 string and some sort of nylon guitar.

I voted for 3, but I have 5, so I figure I've got it just right!

I only need one.
I’m Sure this has been asked many times before...
“If you could only have one, what would it be?”

If N=number of nice guitars we currently own then the answer will always be N+1...

Agreed. I don't need (or want) any of these. I have all I need and then some.

For all my musical needs, I need 3 to 5. I can get by with 3. One for cutting through a mix with rhythm and lead, one for singer accompaniment, one for couch potato songwriting and finger style. All of them need to be good for recording. That's why 5 is even better, yet it is not beyond the realm of possibilities for a guy to get by with 1 or 2. Many do.

Wants and needs...I chose 3 for needs, but my wants did have some influence. I can easily get by with 2. I have 5 in a regular rotation, but 2 of them stay in alternate tunings.

I only need one, the best one I can afford, and that's the one I have. I'm done.

It's not a (M,T, or G) so I didn't vote.
