Songwriters...

For the purpose of giving your songs to band memeber, or possibly as a demo for a producer, what app would you recommend?

I would be doing this without a mic, and on an iPhone or iPad, with a single acoustic guitar (no pick-up).

Hi TRU…

Well, I'm confused. It's a DEMO of what exactly and how do you propose producing it without a mic? Is it ONLY guitar, or will there be a vocal too?

On an iOS device…then Garage Band is an obvious choice for solely audio.

Larry's songs...

…Just because you've argued someone into silence doesn't mean you have convinced them…

I agree with the other replies your post is a bit vague. But I'm guessing your saying you wan't to attempt to produce a demo song on an iPad or iPhone and use the internal mic. In which case the first obvious answer as Larry said for recording would be Garage Band.
As far as export , I have never tried but I'm guessing you might be able to use an adaptor to come out of the iPhone/Pad to USB and load the song on a USB flash drive.
BUT understand that the internal mic on an iPhone/Pad will work, but will be very very limited and minimal in dynamics, tone, etc.

In the case of a band member it could be useful just to give them a feel for the song

In the case of "a producer" if you are referring to producing a submission demo to possibly market the song ? You can certainly try and anything is possible, but the analogy would be, you are attempting to try out for a major league baseball team and walking up to the plate to hit a home run with tree branch and one hand tied behind your back and a patch over one good eye"
