Default Mic Mechanic 2 users?

I picked one of these up today at a local GC. My partner in my acoustic duo has the original version.

So, any users here that have comments, likes, dislikes?

I am a decent vocalist, but thinking that this will smooth me out a little.

Thanks in advance.

Jim

I like mine...But
Can't use it in my home studio and a condenser mic while sitting
It picks up the guitar and tries to autotune to that while I sing..
So it sounds warbly(sp?)
But I've had good luck using a Dynamic in the same spot..

It will be my next purchase. I have the Play Acoustic, but never really liked the guitar part. I just wanted a clean sound from my guitar and even with everything turned off, it is still not a true bypassed signal.

I like the mic mechanic 2 for its simplicity. The tone button which helps smooth things out as you mentioned, mainly with compression. Everything is on the front with simple dials. No menus to dive into. I don’t need harmony. Just a small amount of reverb and delay - at the same time. I know you just have to be careful since the dials can easily be accidentally turned.

I can use my Play Acoustic for this purpose, I just have to dial through menus to adjust.

I’ve had mine for a few months. It took some time and exploration to get what I wanted out of it. As you would expect, every venue is different and sometimes we play and sing through powered speakers and sometimes amps.
I use the reverb feature the most and dial it in for the room we’re in.
I really like the “auto correct” feature for pitchyness as long as it used as recommended. It bales me out of the unavoidable vocal limitations. Hey, if I were a great singer, I’d be getting paid like one.
I set mine at around 11:30 and leave it.

I had one for a while then got another unit which did harmony as well as everything that the Mic Mechanic did. The MM is a good unit.
