Taylor es2 issue. Resolved??
Hi everyone. I just took delivery of an 2016 812ce 12 fret and went to plug it In last night and no sound. Changed the battery. Still nothing. Light went on but no matter how high i turned the gain on the guitar amp or both. Nothing.
I noticed the three pickups under the saddle Weren’t flush. So i loosened the strings and in the sound hole I went and manually pushed them flush Bingo! Sound. Now my question why did they go recessed? Should they be able to move? Might it have happened in transit? Should I be concerned? Other than that I love the guitar. The seller (on reverb) accepts the issue but only wants me to send it back for a full refund which i don’t want as I got a GREAT price on it and i already sold my guitar Thanks in advance

Do the 3 set screws in the bridge now work in adjusting the pickups? Sounds like the previous owner might have cranked them all the way up (or down) so they came apart.

You have to release the three hex screws when removing the saddle. If you bought the guitar used, the previous owner likely replaced the saddle for his use. Then, when selling the guitar he installed the original. And, in his exuberance to pack it and ship it to you, so he might buy something else, he forgot to tighten the screws. This, of course, is just a guess. .
