Default NGD-Preston Thompson Dread

A couple years ago Peter Rowan stopped into our local music bar for a performance with just him and a guitar. Well since then I haven’t been able to get the sound of his guitar out of my head.

So here’s my solution to the problem. A Preston Thompson D-MA Sunburst.
It’s by far the lightest full size dread the I’ve ever run into, Fit & finish is incredible, it is loud, warm and balanced.

After 70 some guitars over the years I think I’m done. Between this and my Martin D28 1935 Special all my needs are filled. Here's some pics altho it's far nicer in person.

Gary

What a beauty! Congratulations. I have played a couple of Thompson’s - really fine instruments. Enjoy!

Best,
Jayne

Looks awesome. Is that the one which was for sale at Carter's?

Love that nice "peppery" mahogany! Play it in good health.

Is that 1 3/4 nut and 2 5/16" string spacing (vintage spec)?

Yeah I got from Carters. It was on consignment and is just like new not a mark on it. Got a good deal on it and they were great to work with.

Yes which is great cause it's the same as my Martin.

Seriously beautiful eye candy. I can't imagine literally being done with GAS but can understand how you could be!
