mic'ing acoustic into pedal board

Looking for advice from those who mic their acoustic while playing live. Do you still use effects? For those that do...how do you go into your pedal board? Mic cable into 1/4" converter into board? I was thinking mic cable into Stompmix 4 then pedal board but figured I'd ask the pros first. (For the sake of specifics...let's say that I definitely want to go through my pedal board and not use the effects in my mixer)

If you have the stomp mix then that's a good starting point.
I have a grace felix preamp so I could do it that way.
Another way would be through your mixers Insert or fx loop.
With a y cable to your pedalboard. If your mixer has an insert or fx loop.?? Usually loops are global. Inserts are on each ch. Which is ideal.

Mic to amp's mic input or in the alternative, mic to mic input transformer into amp input. Use amp's effects loop to send & return to the signal path.

No amp in my set up.. I typically go guitar/pedal board/Touchmix 8/QSC k12.2. New to pedal boards...actually, new to this set up..and new to mic'ing guitar. Just thrown off by the xlr cable to 1/4' input of first pedal..not sure what is "typically" done in this situation. I could make it work a few different way..but wasn't sure if there is a "right" way..?

Yes. Ch 1 can accept either 1/4 in or xlr.
For what you want to do I could send an out
From the felix to the pedalboard or run it through
The felix fx loop.

You will need a mic to line transformer to get a good match between the mic and your 1st pedal. A mic preamp would be considerably better.

In theory a Zoom A1 four might be worth considering. I have no direct experience with it but there are several threads here and elsewhere. If we're lucky Aaron Short might pop by and prove me wrong.

The Zoom would also take care of much of your FX needs, possibly freeing you up to sell enough other pedals to pay for it, which isn't much.

You might also consider the iRig Acoustic Stage which I hear is very useful and fits your requirement. I have the cut down version for recording sketches to iPad and it's not bad for that. I believe the mic element is the same for both but, yet again, am happy to be corrected on that.

I would, however, preface all of this to say you might (will) find that adding FX to a mic'd guitar will introduce a whole world of new problems in anything other than a very stable and friendly stage environment.

Grace Felix or Eventide MixingLink, mics are Neumann KM85 on a boom stand (guitar, mandolin, dobro, banjo, bouzouki) or AT350 clip on for mandolin . No effects or a little bit of reverb on the mic.
Eventide MixingLink is a great little box for that purpose.

Have you considered a Radial Voco Loco? A mic preamp with phantom power and a switchable effects loop...

Read my mind..that was my next question. For my band I would just plug my guitar in...this mic'ing my guitar idea arose due to forming a duo....fiddle/guitar. So by "problems" are we talking feedback? (Looking into your recommendations...i own an A1...bought it a while back to play with/practice to drum tracks/loop)
