Rainsong Vintage/Nashville Info...
I don't particularly care for the Nashville burst but learned the other day that one can acquire a jumbo with the Vintage top. Hmmmm......

Hey RP,
You've got a couple of big voice carbon fiber guitars in the X30 and V-DR1100N2. How do they compare? Jim |

My impression was that they would make a "Nashville" (spruce top with sunburst) or "Vintage" (spruce top with clear finish) version of any body shape and neck (including, presumably, the re-released 12-string and N1 necks). You'd just have to place an order with a dealer as a custom order, and wait for build time.

Ted from LA Guitar Sales is "the man" when it comes to custom Rainsongs. He has a great working relationship with the factory. Many dealers don't even know that you can ask for certain options.

How could it with the forward facing soundhole vs. the offset Emerald design?
Having only played a RainSong Jumbo (it was loud), but I'm just guessin' |

Jim from CA asked me to compare my Rainsong dread and X30. I thought the Rainsong jumbo might be a better comparison based on the size of the boxes...

OK, I guess you're saying the X30 is louder than the Rainsong V dread. I was hoping for a little bit more... It's a long wait for you to have a custom Jumbo in your hands.

Why is everyone so fixated on ‘louder’?

Ok, how about a more specific question. The X30 is "boomier" and more resonant with much more low end.

I was investigating this also with Ted. About a 6 weeks wait for build and the 12 string option is available for all current models not just vintage for others who may be interested in a more CF look.

And therefore, even though it will not help you to cut through the mix, the overall mix in a setting with loud and high pitched instruments is quite pleasant in my experience. Bass players may disagree though.

I'd agree and might venture a step farther; if your mix lacks a bass player, then tonally if not rhythmically speaking, the X30 might be a welcome addition...
