I had an X20 and an X30. The X20 sounded lovely fingerpicked, but I mostly strum and sing and I found it brassy for that purpose. The X30 has great balance for strumming.
I've disliked most smaller-bodied guitars for my strummy playing style -- I hate the way my Sable sounds strummed too -- but they all sound great fingerpicked. X30 rules the roost overall on sound with CF, for me.

My new (to me) X30 is simply a monster guitar. Not a great CF guitar, a great guitar period.
Never thought those words would be typed by me.

My X30 fan fret comes alive when strummed with a heavy hand. I think it has to do with the angled sound hole. With a light touch a lot of sound comes up to the player (maybe even more than gets projected forward, it's hard to tell). But when you dig in, I think a bigger percentage of the sound projects forward.
When I let others play it I always tell em to 'play it like ya stole it'.
