Default Lava ME carbon fiber

I received this guitar yesterday - I am a real snob when it comes to guitars too- like the vintage and hand built - AND this little guitar blew me away.
It’s set up perfectly, has a built in computer, built in effects and a pickup — it sounds amazing. Anyone else tried one yet? MIND BLOWN.

I expected to be disappointed…

I have often wondered, if we are so smart and know so much about how great sound is created, then why can't we create a guitar out of man-made materials? Is the Lava ME it?!? How does it sound acoustically? I'd love to play one.

You should check out the Carbon Fiber forum. I too was kind of a wood snob until I bought an Emerald X-20. Quite a nice surprise. And there are several other brands of CF guitars.

The Lava Me has been discussed in the CF forum. Looks interesting to me. I just wish they had an option for a 1-3/4" nut.

Congrats to the OP on the new guitar. It would be nice to hear back after a few weeks to get your thoughts on the Lava.

@KevinH you beat me to it. There's a whole CF culture here, of which Emerald seems to be on the throne (ish). I have yet to play an Emerald but so many members here swear by the sound, they can't all be wrong.

Default Lava

It sounds amazing acoustically. There are two sizes, the 36 and the 38. Small, yeah, but so, so good for teaching. I’m thinking about getting a bunch for my guitar school - for rentals. Indestructible.

Default Lava

I had another carbon fiber guitar - a bluebird OM. It sounded great, but for less than half the price - the Lava beats it hands down. The 3 isn’t even their “best” model.
