If I hadn’t just bought my Bourgeois, I’d have a 517 BE!

It is an interesting new build from Taylor but I'd probably tire of it fairly quickly and someone would get a great deal in our classifieds. Plus...I really need nothing.

I've got all of the guitars I need but I really would like to try out a 517.

I will be getting one for sure. I'm hoping by Summer NAMM they release a 817.

I have mixed reviews. Most of the recordings so far they sound dull, muddy and thuddy and others they sound really nice.

I think I’m bothered by the idea that previous Taylor dreadnoughts are considered inadequate and even Andy Powers says they can’t do the things the new GP can.

I still want to play one in person before I judge too harshly.

My 810 may not have the bottom end the GP does, but I bet it'll hang with it every other way!

The 717 really looks like a guitar I could go for. My rep at Musicians Friend has already contacted me about ordering one [emoji16]. I have a couple of guitars that I’d like to sell then I’d have room, but I’m definitely interested.

I am really intrigued by the 517 SUNBURST. I like the shape but have been a bit underwhelmed by the recordings on YouTube. I want to play one for myself before I judge or decide to buy one. I want another dreadnought at some point and I want Spruce/Hog configuration. (already have spruce maple and spruce rosewood)

I listened to a well done comparison video showcasing the Grand Pacific along side Gibson J45 std, J45V and Martin D-18. The Grand Pacific sounds really good and credible, but I prefer the Martin D-18 and J45 Standard. That's based on listening to someone else play and video's don't always translate the 'feel' and player response.

All in all, I am impressed with Taylor's direction in this regard. But I still think I would opt for the more classic Martin D-18 or a great J45 or J45V.

I'd like to play one. I loved the 718e I had a few years ago, but it had some structural issues around the bridge. I'd like to get another one someday, but they seem to rarely show up.
