I have tried one, right out of the box. I wasn't impressed. Weak tone.

I just picked mine up after being away today, plucked a few "cowboys" and thought to myself, "How could a guitar sound any better? Rich lows, distinct mids, clear ringing highs."
Mods: Martin 80/20 Bronze Extra Lights / Installed Mitchel's PlateMate / Up to about 15 hours of "sonic therapy." Sonic therapy = guitar on stand, inches in front of stereo speaker. I couldn't be more pleased with my SC13e. (My other 2 Martins are a D-28 and a 48 year old 00-21. Not too shabby a base-line:-)

Very interesting. I was an early fan of 12s on mine but ultimately realised they were too much for it and went back to 11s, which for me, really sang.

I may try out 10s next.

I’m staying with 11s for the comfort and playability factor. I play this guitar at gigs so that the most important thing for me

I've never had any. I've used Elixir PB custom lights the last while. I play a lot in DADGAD lately. They sound great in that or standard. I go over and back frequently with no issues.

I guess what I was really asking is ;when you put a Capo on or off ;is there an issue with going out of tune? I am looking at this guitar for gigging purposes.

Nope.

I use a Shubb performance 3, a G7 heritage or a thalia typically.

You have to fine tune when you place the capo, as normal.

The onboard tuner is a little slow but functional. I prefer to use a good clip on. It is handy that engaging the tuner kills the pickup.

That's exactly what I got this guitar for and after 4 gigs it's been perfect

Post deleted because I changed my mind about what I said. I apologize to those who quoted me, as well as those who offered suggestions about my former concern with my SC13e.
