The E10D was purchased used, and needed some TLC (adjustments and acclimation) from the previous owner, but it's starting to come around.

I haven't played any of the TC models, and it seems they haven't been able to get any more inventory lately. Someone posted on the EGF that they were waiting for almost a year, so they jumped over to an E40OM. Those few who've gotten a TC say they are really incredible instruments and sound like a 20yo Adi top.
You're a man after my own heart. Hey, I was just at the factory in Pomona on Tuesday and picked up my OM-40 burst. Just wonderful people. I was slightly disappointed that the burst on the current model is a more reddish, cherry burst as opposed to the darker, more "tobacco" burst on my E-10SS that I prefer. Do you know, did they change this recently?

I was surprised, but again, not a deal breaker. It's an awesome guitar for fingerstyle, but not playing it at all till I get a custom pickguard on it from LMI.

Your thoughts?

I just glanced at LA Guitar Sales' website, and their "40" is red, while their "20" is not, so I wonder if that's a recent change or another distinguishing feature between the two series. Or if it's just coincidence... they are hand-crafted, and I've seen variations in their burst finishes before, particularly on their jazz boxes.

BTW, here's the burst on my E20OM-SB, including some side-by-side photos with my E40OM: https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/...d.php?t=471877

I loved the back on this guitar, which is a dark and super-fine grain --- almost looks like Madi, even though it's EIR. And although they are similar specs, they sound nothin alike. The "40" has been incredibly responsive and balanced out of the gate (and keeps getting better), while the "20" has a darker tone and has taken a full year to begin to open up. Normally, I'd be impatient with it, but it keeps getting better, so I'm enjoying the journey (even if it tests me!).

Vida, I haven't had a chance to really play into my new Eastie OM-40, but so far it has floored me.

We feel so fortunate to have forged a close working relationship with our good friends over at Eastman Guitars, and we're thrilled they use our picks every day to test their guitars.

Our friends at Eastman have been playing our picks in their custom shop for more than two years. They use them to test their best flat tops.

Thanks, Eastman!

We are proud of our continuing relationship with Eastman. They use our stuff to play their best instruments for testing in their custom shop. And wonderful folks, to boot.

Neo, wow, I haven't been on this thread forever. The new mando model shipped just before Xmas. It has begun to gather momentum and is going really well out there.

Here's a photo:

That's a great idea, Merlin; thanks for the thought.

Being a company from across the pond, I was actually shocked that Eastman would endorse us and, as I asked them specifically, give me permission to share their endorsement publicly.

As far as the vid, I don't know that they'd be willing to do that. But perhaps some still pics at some point.

Thanks Much,
Scott

We have the great good fortune to be located only a one-hour drive from Eastman's West Coast facility in Pomona, CA. Due to COVID, I haven't visited them this year, but I spoke to a couple of my buds over there and they're business is through the roof this year, just like ours. What a bizarre 12 months it's been.

Bravo, Eastman, and thanks for the kudos.

They use our picks in their custom shop, playing the finest acoustics (and mandos) they make.

Shake, if you ever take some pics I'd love to have a gander.
