Default Looking for a Acoustic small pre-amp that I can use with Headphones

Hello all,

** I also posted this in the Amplification Forum too, I thought I would try here too**

Preface statement: I did search these forums for one. Some of the threads are very old.

With that said; I recently started playing and would like to plug in my guitar to an amplified sound that I can hear myself while wearing my already awesome BOSE headphones.

I am looking for:

1. Something that is for Acoustic Guitar
2. Has some neat features
3. Does have the capability of plugging in a separate source (like a song from youtube off of my computer into it) I have seen some specs that have a "in" line.
4. Price does not really matter if it is reasonable (I am not looking for the cheapest way I guess)

I play a Martin GPC-15E Streetmaster, it has a Fishman Matrix VT Enhance NT2 pickup and preamp.

Thanks in advance.

This is what I use and it is quite handy:

https://www.amazon.com/TU-88-Micro-M.../dp/B001RVDJEU

https://www.ebay.com/itm/BOSS-TU-88-...QAAOSwEHJgM5CK

(several on ebay)

I don't think these are in production anymore, but you can find them on the used market quite readily. It is a tuner, metronome, and monitor. You can plug in your guitar as well as an external audio source.

I often use it with my laptop or smart phone for learning tunes by ear. I run either Transcribe! on the laptop or Amazing Slowdowner on my smart phone, and run the headphone output into the Boss TU-88 along with my guitar to make it easier to match notes on the guitar against the recording.

Edit: If you want to use a power supply with it instead of batteries, it takes the standard Boss PSA-120 that all the smaller pedals use.

Raven Labs made the pha-1. It’s designed for headphone use, has input for mono or stereo audio source, and can be used as a standalone preamp. They’ve been out of production for a while, but I see there’s a used one online from guitar center. Very low noise and operates on two 9V batteries or a rare power supply. I own one and use it mainly with the transcribe! software.

This does what you ask. It plugs in and rests close to the guitar. It uses 2 AAA batteries.

I've had one for a year. It's fun. I can hear the guitar more clearly, particularly high frequencies, when I use this and headphones.

I've never used the aux input feature, but it's there.

They make a variety of them with different tonal features. Not knowing the diff, I bought the "Clean."
