My tribute to Joe Pass
It's a big ask to get anywhere near Joe's playing but I thought I'd try my own arrangement of Summertime and see how it goes taking inspiration from Mr Pass.
Let me know what you think. |

Very cool. I like the pace with lotsa space at the beginning and then the change in pace with the walking bass, ace! haha I also appreciated the django reference right at the end

Joe was one of the best! I loved it when he accompanied Ella Fitzgerald... he seemed to do it so effortlessly.
Very well done... I really enjoyed it. That's one of my favorite tunes. Please post some more. |

Another Joe Pass fan here - I got to see him once in a small venue. He was ornery, didn't seem too happy to be there, but his playing was so incredibly fluid and musical. He was one of the best ever!
Really nice job here, you did this great tune justice! I like your arrangement a lot, great playing |

Wow, that was very good Mark! I enjoyed each of the 3 sections, particularly that middle, walking bass version.
Well done and great sounding guitar. I have an old Gibson ES-335, also. - Glenn

Thanks to you all and well spotted for the reference at the end. I didn't think it was that good to be honest but really pleased you dig it. It a lovely guitar to play too. Believe it or not, it's just played through a Yamaha amp

Waouw that was very cool, the sound is amazing very warm and mellow, fits the style perfectly, I'm really not a jazz expert but that was very well played, the walking bass part is very cool too, very inspiring to listen to
