Default New Song 'Fire' (acoustic)

http://geraldburkhart.bandcamp.com/track/fire

The guitar is a 000 podium 15 series with k&k guitar was recorded mic'd and with a line in from the k&k. I'm recording this in November with some friends at a real studio. Opinions?

Gerald, that's a very good song with well developed lyrics. Your voice has plenty of character and the guitar sounds excellent. From an arrangement perspective, the song runs long and could be shortened by eliminating the guitar solo, as it doesn't give a break to the progression or mood of the song. Also, the second vocal during the chorus sounds off pitch at times and less controlled than the lead vocal, so I would recommend just leaving it out or replace it with harmonies when you record in the studio. Over all, it is a good song and I enjoyed listening. I hope you post a sample of the finished product in November!

There's a lot to like about this song. Very cool guitar and lead vocals. I agree about the second vocal being a bit off, and about perhaps shortening the song a bit. I look forward to the final studio version!

Thanks for the input. I plan on shortening the song and having someone else do harmony vocals in those spots where there is a second vocal on the track. I'm trying to figure out exactly how to cut the length without going from the second chorus strait into the last verse part.
