The top, bracing prepared and signed by the creators!

Next, the open box prior to closing…that’s some stunning Koa from the inside!!!

And finally, the box gets closed!!!!

Hey Matt, it’s to reduce the possibility of the top dimpling above the X brace either side of the bridge. This happened for us once with a pyramid bridge on an Engelmann top. Now we do this as a matter of course. This is a Lutz top, stiffer in every direction, but it seems prudent to add this bit of stiffness above the X. Hope this makes sense.

Thanks Steve, makes perfect sense. But you should have just gone with it and called them “Tone Dimples”

Nice to see more pics. Question time Steve, what are the four spiky things on the neck?

Alignment pins to locate the fretboard to the neck. Pilot holes are hidden in fret slots…

This just gets better with every post! The torch really looks great with Steve’s headstock design and especially with that beautiful wood. The binding will really frame all that flame well. Dave

As Ned Ryerson would say, “Bing!” One predictable occurrence when gluing is movement (out of alignment) unless a way be found to keep things in place. These wee pins do a fine job in locking down the board when slippery glue and firm pressure meet. Thanks for stepping in, Bob!

Why, thank you Dave! I’m glad you’re following along, and your vote(s) of approval mean a lot.
