He would have known right then and there that he had to floor the pedal to the metal whenever both skis were on the ground in order to have any chance at catching Russi. Not too many skiers have the stones to do that, given the high risk. Russi was smoother, had better form, and was more classically stylish. But Klammer got the gold. For me, that's what the Olympics are all about. Just an amazing performance. Glad you enjoyed the video!
