1956 J-45 amplification
I have tried LR Baggs M1 and anthem both make it sound like a 20 dollar guitar from walmart. I am on the hunt.........I just read a bunch of peoples thoughts and recommendations i.e. K&K, Dazzo, HFN, etc. Does anyone have experience with a j-45 of this era and found a good pick up? Any help would be appreciated. I play through a Bose L1 w/ tonematch but beginning to think I should get a pre-amp also and just run Bose flat eq. The guitar sounds awesome unplugged and mic'd, but I want to be able to gig it also.

There is a user on here "The Kid!" who has I believe a 1952 J-45 with a Schatten HFN installed and he loves it. You could send him a PM for clarification.

I use a DiMarzio Black Angel sound hole pickup in my 1949 J45. I've played out with it and it works great. It's easy to install and remove and no drilling required. Sounds great too
