Let's skip all this guitar talk. Did Tim see that Rodger said I should get paid triple?

I might get three McDonald certificates. YAHOO!

You are welcome.

Basically the only things left to do is to change the strings, polish the frets one more time, get the case ready, tinker with the tuning and wait until June 22 for Rodger to come to the McJam and play it for those of us who are waiting to hear.

This guitar will be the "star" of the McJam 2018.

(And thank you for the compliment, Rodger!)

Finishing touches... Comments by Mary unless otherwise noted.

Preparing to add the pickup...

Measure twice - mark once...

The pick up hole...

An angle only our luthier would dare get into...

Let's introduce everyone to the K & K pick up...

This gets a rounded file...

Tighten this and that...

The K & K Pure Pickup was your choice for the sound system...

The box can explain all the details better...

A dab of glue...

The label...

Pre-check placement...

Luthier glue applied...

Gluing the back of the label...

Going in for it!

Dominic's label is in place...

Some areas take more than 2 hands. Is this label straight? We Conk heads to "get 'er done!"

The guitar strap hole goes in...

The strap button pad is ready...

Congrats Rodger! Wonderful job Tim (and Mary)!

And Happy Father's Day All !!!!!

well, the day finally arrived to pick up The Dominator at McJam XI. This will be my last picture post for it...

The Big Reveal. My first look at The Dominator in person...

My first strum...

Playing at the McJam Open Mic...

Dennis (CigarFan) Takes it for a spin...

Chocolaty Brazilian ...

A pic from the bottom...

Just a brief mini review - I plan to do a full review in the future complete with sound clips.

This guitar has it all.
  • Looks. I haven't seen straight grain Brazilian rosewood like this in a looooong time. The Adi top pops. The curly binding is classy (IMO).
  • Tone. I've played it all over the neck and every note rings out with clarity. I can usually find a thuddy note somewhere on every guitar I pick up. Haven't found one on this one.
  • Playability. Tim said he has refined his set up as far as neck relief. This is so easy to play. I thought it had light strings, but Tim assures me he put mediums on it. This is the easiest playing guitar I've ever experienced with medium strings.

Looking forward to many years of enjoyment before I turn over the reins to Dominic, my Grandson.

Definitely the nicest dreadnought I have ever had the occasion to play. Dominic is one lucky grandson with an awesome grandfather. You are special Rodger!
