Default Which monitors do you use for your guitar music recording?

as simple as this! which ones fo you use? which ones are your favorites?

and what about headphones?

here i've read lots of threads about mics, preamps and so, but monitors are rarely adressed...

Mackie HR-824's. Very flat and sonically transparent. Not inexpensive but definitely worth the money if you are serious about your recording.

For solo guitar I have been monitoring and adjusting with Grado 225i headphones. I used some studio speaker monitors for a time but it just was not practical in my environment. I do very little post recording tweaking anyway.

Depending who is home at the time I either use KRK V8s or Senn. HD 600 headphones (open) for mixing. For tracking I use Senn. HD 280 (closed )

I used to really like my Event 20/20s until I tried the A7s.

JBL 4315's. They are large format 4-way from the 70's and IMHO, the best JBL ever made.

I use the Akai speakers on my stereo. I know ... much shame!

I'm slowly upgrading everything in my little home studio, but proper monitors are far down the list.

I picked up some JBL LSR2325P 5" studio monitors recently and I've been very pleased. Pretty flat and articulate. Bass is surprisingly good for a 5" speaker, but not overpowering.

Quested F11 actives and Quested H108 passives with a pair of Quested SM200 power amps each bridged to mono. Occasionally, I'll run a pair a Daedalus W-803 with a Hafler P3000.
