These Burners know what they are doing! Their work is also a credit to Kevin Gallagher.

Ah Accelerator. I have (not so) fond memories of that wonderful feeling of chemical burns and freeze gluing my fingers to balsa wood many, many times during my years as an architecture student with that stuff.

I'm in agreement with everyone. It's not just the little details - there for sure is a risk that too much just makes it look gaudy and unbalanced...I'm sure I'm not the only one who has ridden in a Lincoln Towncar with rims and ground effects that fit that description to a 't'. But everything seems perfectly at home, with a wonderful sense of balance and elegance.

I love the wedge detail - I agree could make a cool signature. And If I'm remembering correctly Andy Gallagher is doing something creative in the same area...how appropriate that guitar builders of the same lineage share that same sense of creativity as Kevin did.

What is the wood used in the diamond inlay?

I'll have what he's having...wow!

Hmm, it's an 8 hour drive for me to get to Lincoln (my birthplace)...and my dad keeps trying to get me to go there on a road trip. This might put me over the top. Perhaps a Burner Guitar is in my future.

Thanks for the compliments, this is really coming together. We will wrap things up in the next few days and it will be ready for finish. Can't wait to see all these woods under finish. There are some guitars that just come alive under finish, and I think this will be one of them.

I could see a teaser when you were wiping the perimeter with whatever solution that was! Sweet

That little surfboard is just too cool! Also really like the sound port. I love it when a theme is carried out to unusual areas of the guitar.

The Burners have been great in carrying the theme through, me with my Obsessive Compulsive Disorder that endlessly thinks about things and then them on their own like the surfboards they came up with for crack stops and then me thinking about the using one on the interior next to the label, has been a marraige of people both pushing the limits of creative thought and their creative talents as both designers and implementers of the creativity.

Love the way it is rolling. Bindings should be today/tomorrow if I am lucky.

Here we go... guitar is headed to Fedex to get to Joe White for finishing. Special thanks to the Burners for the relentless effort to get this thing to Joe so we can have it by the anniversary of my brother's passing on Christmas Eve. So far above and beyond these guys went!

I am just saying.... talk about raising the bar. These guys have thrown it down and stomped it into the ground!

Disclaimer

The neck was just bolted into place for the photos and has not had final fit yet - that happens after finish for us.

The box is being taped shut - and out the door she goes to "The Master" (Joe White)

We'll probably have it back in about a month - and then we can do the final steps and get it shipped off to Keith.

It's been a wild ride so far!

Now for a weekend to recoup and move on to the next build that we're behind on. (Sorry Jeff)

And then it comes down to this:

foam / body / foam / neck / foam

All inside a 24x24x17 cardboard box lined with wood on all 6 sides.

She's off........
