Default Hello Everyone!

My name is Shawn, I'm 39 years old and I live in SW Pennsylvania. I have been lurker here for awhile so I thought I'd join.

I have been playing guitar off and on for 8 years. My first guitar was an Alvarez Yairi DY-74C. I sold it later because of a financial emergency (I still regret it) and quit playing for a while. Two weeks ago I purchased a guitar from my friend (who was a big Yairi fan). it is a 1998 Martin OOOM.

I am really enjoying the Martin and playing again and I really enjoy fingerstyle guitar.

I hope to learn a lot here and one day pass on some knowledge!

Thank You All,
Shawn

Go Pens!!!!!

Hi Shawn! Welcome. You' will learn a lot here, I certainly do. BTW, I'm originally from Pittsburgh. Unfortunately, not much of a sports fan. Still haven't forgiven them for tearing down Forbes Field.

Welcome to the forum Shawn! My youngest son's GF is from PA and is a Steeler fan. We still like her though, lol.

Welcome Shawn. This is a great place to hang out.
My family is “originally” from northeast of Pittsburgh. They left PA for Ohio in the mid-1800’s and moved to Michigan in the early 1900’s. I’ve been a Steelers fan since I was 8 years old...that’s 45 years of cheering for Black and Yellow. Why, if I’ve spent my entire life in Michigan? Because I...just...can’t...cheer...for...the...Lions.
Welcome aboard!

Welcome Shawn. Glad to have you aboard and see you posting instead of lurking. I love those Yairi's too. But that Martin is a nice guitar.

Welcome to AGF! I spent my first 30 years in PA: grew up in rural SW PA, five years at PSU, and then eight more in the 'Burgh. Moved out to NorCal 15 years ago, never looked back, but still enjoy my PSU and Pittsburgh sports teams.

Welcome to the Forum, Shawn.

I too am a Yairi fan.

I am also a hockey fan, but of the Red Wings, not the Penguins.

As for we Detroit, of course, it's "Better luck next year!" at this point.

P.S. Although until the very end, my Michigan Wolverines did just fine in both hockey and basketball.
