For Sale: Collings OM42G Wenge

Up for sale is a my Collings OM42G with beautiful straight grained wenge back and sides and a German spruce top. This is a really nice guitar and it's not even close to being broken in yet. It has no wear or issues to speak of (aside from the slightest hint of fretwear) it's squeaky clean and comes with the warranty card and original hardshell case.

This guitar has a nicely figured mahogany neck, 1-3/4" nut width, 2-3/16" string spacing at the saddle, ivoroid neck and peghead binding, style 42 abalone top inlays, style 3 backstrip, and no inlays on the fretboard for a super clean look.

The overall sound is somewhere between Brazilian and EIR rosewood. It's a little brighter than Indian rosewood (and less tubby in the low end) and it's a little bit warmer than Brazilian but still remains nice and clear. This particular guitar also doesn't seem as heavy as other rosewood OM's I've played and it really sounds great strummed or fingerpicked. I believe this is the closest to Brazilian rosewood out of the "other" rosewoods. I know it's a bold claim but I think this guitar does it. The German spruce adds a quick and percussive feel when finger picking and it always seems to have plenty of volume to spare. It also kind of reminds me of a Waterloo WL-14 in how quickly it responds.
