SOLD: Goodall AAA Madagascar/Master Adirondack OM (TMdROM)
I am selling my 2004 James Goodall Traditional Madagascar Rosewood/Adirondack Spruce OM (Serial #3629). This guitar was completed on 3/22/04 and originally sold from Buffalo Bros Guitars in Carlsbad, CA. The back/sides are AAA quartersawn Madagascar rosewood (which is no longer available from Goodall Guitars) and the top is Master Adirondack Spruce. I bought this guitar in 2006 from the original owner who had clearly never really played it. The guitar is in truly excellent condition with no scratches or dings beyond normal play. There is some slight yellowing (between the rosette and sound hole above the saddle) that I am told is a characteristic of the aging of some sets of wood. I tried to capture this in pictures by taking numerous shots of the area but it is hard to capture. I am posting a few here but see the whole album at: http://s103.photobucket.com/user/dha...0number%203629
for additional shots. It honestly is not very noticeable unless you know it is there (as you can tell from many of these pics). I had forgotten that it was there until I was figuring out what disclosures to make for this post. The frets are in great shape with very little wear. The nut is bone but the saddle was replaced with fossilized walrus ivory. Additionally, the original pins have been replaced with fossilized walrus ivory. These are included in the purchase and I will also be sending the original boxwood pins to the buyer. The guitar comes with a Cedar Creek custom case made especially for Goodall. The current list price of the guitar would be in excess of $10000, require a 3 year wait, and would not be an equivalent guitar as this grade of Madagascar is no longer available from Goodall. The price for this OM is $5300 (or best offer). The buyer is expected to pay shipping costs which UPS has estimated to be around $125 (fully insured) via ground. Complete Specs: Scale: 25.5" Width at Nut: 1.75" Back/Sides: AAA Madagascar Rosewood Top: Mastergrade Adirondack Spruce Rosette/Backstrip/Purfling: Herringbone Binding: Maple Neck: Solid Mahogany (standard profile) Bridge: Ebony Bridge Pins: FWI (I will also include the original boxwood) Nut: Bone Saddle FWI (I think I also have the bone saddle and I will include that as well) Tuners: Nickel Waverly w/ Ivorioid Knobs Pickguard: Tortis Peghead Veneer: Madagascar Rosewood Please feel free to contact me with any questions and thanks for looking!

Yellowing around the soundhole is often caused by using a humidifier. Do you know if one was used on this guitar?

Interesting, I've never heard that before. The yellowing was there when I received the guitar back in 2006 so I can't say whether a soundhole humidifier was used prior to when I received it or not. I have humidified it religiously (using a case humidifier) as I live in the high desert. However, none of my other guitars have any sign of soundhole yellowing. With that said, it really isn't that noticeable on this guitar.
