I own two maple guitars and they're both very nice and have lovely tone. The rest are mahogany. I finally got a rosewood guitar the other day. The rosewood is growing on me too. But I default to mahogany or maple.

I waited a long time before settling on a Greven Maple Prairie State with Engelmann top that became available. I had tried a few other brands, but they were just too bright for my taste. This guitar is clear and very warm. I ended up trying BHO's Greven 00 Maple and fell in love with the tone.

I was just at my local guitar store a couple hours ago and played a Taylor 618e. I liked it more than I expected to, it sounded great. Better, in fact, than the 9-series that it was hanging next to.

Between those two and a couple of Martins, I figured I played $12,220.00 worth of guitars in about half an hour.

The maple on that 618e was stunning. Great neck too, had a little texture to the grain, which I like.

Yeah, the new 618e is great, killer bass and clarity. It's capable of a tremendous range of sound

I'm lovin' my first-ever, maple guitar, a 2015 Taylor 618e.

I own a Gibson J-185 and a Recording King RNJ-25 both of which are Sitka over maple. It's either mahogany or maple for me too. I play the J-185 whenever I'm sitting in with more than one other player. The RK is a great little Nick Lucas copy which now resides at my sister's house in NC so I have something to play when I go east for Merlefest. Whenever I play the RNJ-25 people remark at the distinctive tone it has. From my perspective as the player it doesn't sound all that different than some of my other mahogany guitars. But listeners hear something else. Great shots of that Circa and the Greven...beautiful instruments.

Cheers! You can see one in my signature. It's my third maple guitar

I'm really starting to appreciate maple. I just picked up this SJ made with sinker spruce and reclaimed maple (from old school desks) from a small Canadian brand called Arvey.

Sounds like the new Taylors are top notch. I will have to try to find one to play, especially in the 618. I wonder if they make a 12 string version? Congrats Ikravchik on your maple. They look great, too..

I recently got a maple guitar and enjoy her very much. She's a Gibson J-200 Jr which is like a J-185 with a J 200 neck...its a quilted maple back & sides. I'm a sucker for red stained maple...

She's got a sweet voice...
