Thanks Tom. This is actually the first picture I've seen of the inside of a bevel (tells ya I don't spend enough time on AGF, huh? lol). I guess the "average" consumer like me doesn't really think about all that goes into a build; making what seems to be simple like a bevel obviously a much more complex process.

Yeah, I know what you mean, I have learned a lot on watching my own build as I think I pay so much more attention to all the details. In fact, if you are truly interested, there is a series of photos on my thread that show Ryan making the bevel support or framework, whatever you want to call it, from planning down the pieces, laminating them together (Ithink 7 layers), sanding them to shape and gluing it in with the linings. There is a lot to go through and ironically enough, a lot of it ends up being filed away and turned into sawdust!

Being build cousins, we can assume the Kinnaird boys do a lot of things at least similarly.

Tom

I'm late to the party here. But I just have say that's another perfectly spec'd guitar that would nicely complement your JK BRW! No wonder you don't hang out with us "eternally GAS-afflicted" folks at the classifieds anymore.

LOLOL....Rye you crack me up! I really think it is just a matter of a short time before you'll be hangin' out over here too. There so much less stress here ! Certainly your tastes for exquisite guitars would be well satiated here as well. Thanks for the kinds comments!

Default The sides are done!

I thought I would post a few pics on my own.
I like to notch in the side braces into the lining to eliminate a line of weakness that otherwise exists at that intersection

Inside of sides more or less done

Thanks John for posting these! I was just getting ready to post them myself and it's cool to see them up already!

I continue to be amazed at the meticulous detail work that goes into making a great guitar. It is cool to see so many threads which show the incredible workmanship of so many builders here on AGF. These pictures which are a further demonstration of great workmanship and meticulous detail.

and John, I might add...your photographic skills are coming along too . That last picture of the inside has great depth and dimension. LOVE it!!

Well Mike, your wish and mine has come true today...an update. The truth of the matter is that we have been intentionally moving slow on this one to make sure it meets all of the expectations in spades. Here is a pic of the back and sides coming together. Solid Spanish Cedar lining helps make the guitar just that much more resonant.

Once you get this guitar, Mike, I'm thinking it might be time for that meet-and-greet!! I can already tell I'm going to want to hear that guitar in person.

Mike, I think that is certainly a probability and LONG overdue!! Can't wait. You bring that GORGEOUS Stehr of yours, and we'll take some fun guitar pics and take turns making some music!

Default Top braced up

Nearly ready to close the box.

Funny how pictures show places that need attention never noticed before

Pardon the glue stains around some braces. Hot hide glue seems to stain soft wood rather deeply and there comes a time to stop chasing them in deference to the original top profile.

That sinker top is just amazing--even from the underside!

Thanks Nemoman
I got this top from my good friend Bob Singer who brought you the Memphis Guitar Festival. The man loves guitars and great wood.
