You just want a rosette to match those Cons! It's coming along very nicely. I agree the wedge is very helpful on the dread, as is the cutaway. For an OM, though, if I had to choose I would go with cutaway. I need to have access to that 20th fret!

Hi Steve,

Great news that your OM is now in progress - can't wait to see how it develops!

Having now heard both yours and Jonny's MDs, it has a hard act to follow, but I'm sure it will be outstanding

Hi Martin - nice to "see" you here; I keep hearing great things about your ABW Taran - I must get my hands on it one day.

I must also badger Jason for some more pics...

Cheers,
Steve

More pics would be nice

If you can make it to Halifax next weekend, you can definitely get to try the Taran

Some updates just in from Jason:

Ebony backstrip inlaid:

Now looking more like a guitar back...

Bracing the back:

Jason tells me the back braces are now carved and the back voiced - pics to come soon. He's then going to be voicing the top over the next few days, then the box will be closed as they say.

Cheers,
Steve

I'm really looking forward to this one Steve. It may well be the template for mine.

Well, hopefully you'll get to play it soon? Are we all aiming for a Feb get-together as last year?

Here are the back braces being shaved:

Shellac'ed and label on; what will Jason's wait be when he gets to 153?

Jason will be closing the box next.

Cheers,
Steve

More pics! I love the back/side woods you have chosen. It's stunning. I realize I've said that twice now, but I'm ok with that.

Hi Steve...Fabulous woods.....That top looks particularly amazing from what I can see here in this last photo. Is it German or Italian Spruce? Jason has some great wood options, for sure. The OM and MD are going to be great complements for one another....Now, you just need to pick up one of his OO's for a perfect studio! :-) I'm anxious to see the final product!!!....This looks great!
