It seems Ferrari's usual practice of all eggs in one basket has backfired again. So many times this year when Leclerc has proved himself faster than or in front of Vettel, they have made odd decisions that seem to favour Vettel to get him in front. It is common practice in F1 to pit the lead driver first but today, with Leclerc 3rd and Vettel 5th they pit Seb first under safety car and leave Leclerc out too long, effectively demoting him to 6th and Seb up to 3rd.

Then Vettel makes another mistake and finishes nowhere.

When will they learn Leclerc's basket is the secure one this year? It's almost as if they are trying to justify paying Seb $45m/year wage instead of backing their young star.

Seb doesn't look too focused on F1 at the moment and seems a little out of sorts for a man who got married just three weeks ago.

Yes, likely the best race of the season, so far. I did feel for MV, when Vettel rammed into him; sure thought Max was done, at that point.

Only 21, Leclerc is still "proving himself," perhaps, but I agree with the point that he is Ferrari's future (if not current) star.

Haas MUST make some changes, and soon. I don't see Grosjean staying on, much longer. And Rich Energy has terminated, or been terminated, or is trying to terminate...

I think you're right, Vettel may have had his time.
4 consecutive world championships 2010/11/12/13 with Red Bull.
I'm sure Ferrari were thinking they'd recreate that incredible domination they enjoyed with Michael Schumacher's 5 consecutive world titles in 2000/01/02/03/04.
But it hasn't happened and now Vettel is clearly being out driven by his younger (and cheaper) team mate.

It was a great race, best so far this season. Vettel is clearly in a rut, running in the back of MV is something Iíd expect MV to do to Vettel. LeClerc has shown some brilliance as a driver, super impressive this past weekend. Ferrari needs to stop catering to crybaby Vettel, and understand that as of right now, CL is their future.

Silver arrows on top...again, Iím sick of it already. I wish Bottas had better luck. As great as Hamilton is, he also seems to have the greatest luck. Snatching that fastest lap on the very last lap, on worn out hard tires while his teammate was in the same car with much better rubber, is quite the statement that Bottas simply doesnít have what Hamilton has.

Haas needs better drivers, I think the car is competitive, but Grosjean and Magnussen are not.

While I would love to see a close title race with several teams and drivers in contention for the championships, I’ve decided to enjoy watching one of the best drivers and strongest teams ever display their prodigious talents and set records.

Silverstone is a great circuit which s probably why that area of the UK is he centre for most F! and other teams.

I have an old friend who lives in the village, and he hates motor racing, but we used to go and stay with them when we went to the F1 race - all too expensive and complicated for us now.
I agree with the comments about Ferrari strategy and Vettel seeming out of sorts.

LeClerc does seem to be on the rise - not exactly a rookie after his victories in GP2 and F3, and Hamilton's biggest threat is Bottas.

Verstappen is ahead of Vettel in the points and showing ever more skill and maturity, and I suspect that Vettel is a bit scared of him.

Just about half way though the season now, and Ferrari will really have to pull something out of the hat (beret?) to regain their second place in the construcor points standing!

Totally unpredictable! we LERRV wet races! 5-6 tyre changes per car!

Hamilton starts on Pole and finishes at the back , Vettell starts at the back and finishes 2nd!

Rain is what we need - to mix up the pack.

Kyvat get his first F1 podium and first child on the same weekend.

Max made terrible start just like Austria. Max goes on to win just like Austria. Pity about LeClerc - him and Max are in line to be the next great rivalry. A shame we didn't get a bit of them today but great race.

Well done Vettel, I think he has been short of a bit of his usual luck of late. Lets hope this picks his spirits up a bit.

Good to see three smiling faces on podium.

Wow! This was the most exciting race in long time. It really was one of those hang on to your seat rides, throughout the whole race.

Tough to make tire calls when things keep changing. A 3 hour drive away at Spa-Francourchamps they had to stop the 24 Hour GT race for 6 hours because the rain was so heavy.

We are having extreme weather in the UK & Europe.
I awoke to thunder this morning.
Where I live more than two days of hot sunny means a rainstorm.
Really hot yesterday, cold rain high wind and trees going down today - I chose not to cycle to the gym!
