Default Here There and Everywhere cover (recorded for a wedding)....

Hi all

I just wondered if anyone would mind sharing their thoughts on this recording I made a couple of years ago for a friend of a friend's wedding. She wanted the music for when she walked down the aisle. I'd forgotten I done it but stumbled across it the other day....

I've never done this before (posted music on the web for feedback)! But don't go gentle on me!!! All I ask is that criticisms are accompanied by some constructive feedback so that I can learn from the experience...

Many thanks

Max

Sounds great to me - nice and fluid, but steady tempo at the same time. Your notes are clean and sharp. Enjoyed it.

Listened with headsets. Love the sound of nylon on a song like this. You played it very well. It will definitely add to the wedding!

The wedding was a couple of years ago. They're probably divorced by now! If I get asked to write something for the divorce I'll post that here too!!!

Hello Seagull...Great job... A little of the song reminded me of Dan Foglesburg playing "longer" ...was this the inspiration? Enjoyed immensely!

I thought it was very nice Seagull. Having done lots of weddings myself, I can definitely hear you playing this at one. Your playing is crisp with a very nice tone and a lovely melody.

Cheers!

I know how scary it is posting your stuff for feedback for the first time. The first time I did it I was skewered, which to this day still makes me nervous when I post my stuff here.

Anyway, I think you did a great job with this.

@Jeremy - it's interesting you should say that. I'm really frilled by the positive comments. However, not only have I never posted anything before, I've also never spent any time in these sections of forums..... And so I was not sure whether people tend to usually just write positive comments and not negative ones. So, is it the case that some some uploads (as was the case on your first one) often get more critical or negative feedback?

One thing I wanted to add, more than the playing on my recording I am most interested in hearing what people think about the actual recording itself, the sound quality, etc. I've been playing guitar for many years but only just been getting into the recording side of things; so it's very helpful to hear about that side of things.

Thanks once again for all who have listened and commented.

Cheers

Max

They only wanted that section for the wedding, so that's all I ended up recording.....

Cheers for the comment.

Max,

You'll find this section leads more toward the positive. But it's not whitewash, you'll get plenty of constructive criticism. Rarely have I seen only negative comments.

Welcome to the Show & Tell section! I enjoyed that short clip and only wish it was longer...very well played! As for the recording, it sounded good to me with no obvious noise, clipping or distortion...everything sounded clean and crisp in my headphones. Thanks for sharing it here.

Thanks again to everyone for listening and sharing your views. I'll definitely post again when I record more in the future. And when I have a little time I'll have a listen to what others have been recording and respond with some of my own thoughts.

All the best

Max
