Been really enjoying Toby Hay's "New Music For The 12 String Guitar", bought last month after I went to see him live for the first time. The whole album is just him playing American primitive style guitar on his custom Fylde 'Red Kite' 12 string, which was gifted to him by an independent record company.

Here are a couple of tracks:

What a great thread. I've compiled a list of lots of stuff for me to check out.

I will add one more that belongs on the "our own" (AGF members) sub-list:

Dustin Furlow's Woodscapes

And, the other one I'd recommend is actually low G uke, but it's one of my favorite finger style albums. It's Daniel Ho's Polani album.

Again, thanks for a great thread and to all who contributed.

Michael, your album is recommended, too. Greetings from Portugal!

Thanks! I'm a big fan of Jack Rose... and this is right there! If by chance you have not heard Jack, I'd recommend listening immediately!

Two artists that haven't been listed yet:

Christie Lenee -- Chasing Infinity
Andy McKee -- Art of Motion

Not sure if I saw Don Ross listed yet; he should be included, too.

Thanks for the mention. That album is no longer in print but many of the cuts are available on a compilation called, "In the Beginning," available for download at CD Baby & iTunes.

On the off-chance that no one has entioned this one, I'll throw into the mix John Renbourn's last (?) recording, Palermo Snow...

It is a fantastic record, some of it John solo and a good bit with a clarinetist in duet format. Great sound quality; the recording is top-notch!

John even tells what tunings he used for each of the songs. A really wonderful recording.

Also, Pat Metheny's records - "What's It All About" and "One Quiet Night" are very good, although they pale in comparison to Pat and Charlie Haden's record, "Beyond the Missouri Sky"!

Kottke , Lang and Fahey (Takoma , 1974). Unmissable.
