2016 Taylor 322ce. I just traded-in my Martin D Junior and Taylor GS Mini-e Koa on a Larrivee SD-40M Legacy because I hardly ever played the two travel guitars. If I need to travel, and being that I very seldom fly, this Taylor 322ce gives me all I want in a comfortable, easy-playing, full-toned ax.

My '69 Martin 00-18, this is the only photo of it that I could get to load here so not a full shot unfortunately, and for some reason, sideways?

OK, I'm game.

Breedlove Pursuit Exotic Concertina

FedEx dropped this guitar off on Dec. 23 (I was on vacation). It plays and sounds wonderful (thanks to its 12 fret neck, it has a suprisingly deep sound), with a "sort of" parlor guitar body size. The top is myrtlewood, and the sides are myrtlewood laminate. I took it along with me for the extended family Christmas Eve celebration, and everybody thought it was great. It is replacing my Alvarez AMP660, 00-size, that is a bit larger.

That’s one lovely guitar.

Thanks! It really sounds good for a having a solid top with laminate sides. Myrtle is supposed to be a fir tree species, but it sounds a bit mellower than a spruce top guitar does (though that may be due in part to the scale length, and fact that as a 12-fretter, the bridge is moved down into the lower bout).

I bought it on the fly from Musician's Friend (which I never buy guitars from) cheeeep, due to it being listed as a blem finish-wise (I can't even find any finish flaws in the guitar). It has a 25" scale neck, and the lower bout is 14.75" wide. I took a chance when I bought the guitar, because I was worried that the neck might be too thin for my preference (Breedlove does not list neck thickness numbers - just that the neck is slim and easy playing), but I found the neck to be adequately thick, and nice playing.

Yeah, it's definitely a keeper.

Ellen

Here is a deep-bodied 00 that Mike Baranik finished for me in October. Needless to say, it’s getting a lot of playing time!

Colorado blue spruce over koa, with blue-toned maple for the bevel and bindings.

Great thread and some beautiful guitars already posted!

My last two acoustics have been small bodies. I’m a dreadnought strummer that has zero comfort issues playing dreads and I have really come to appreciate these small bodies. There’s something about the immediacy of sound that’s so much quicker than my dreads. I also feel there are some nuances in the tone that my dreads don’t have due to the huge bass of the dreads. I really think appreciating these small bodies has made me a better player.
