Not quite done, but playable. I work hard to be modest about my guitars, and not overstate their qualities. This one is an exception. Every now and again I make one that is up a level from the last few. This is exciting for me because it is usually just the first of a bunch that are at the new level. In this case I can only hope so! This guitar sounds beautiful to me. it is plenty loud enough, has the balance I require, and blah blah blah, it's a Sexauer, but the beauty of the tone is greater than I am used to.

This is only the second guitar I've made from this particular Pernambuco score, and the other was a single 0. It's at Schoenberg's for sale, and there is nothing wrong with it, sounds as good as any of my single 0s, but it's a little guitar and this one is BIG.

Here, look at it before truss rod cover and PG. I probably should have dusted it::

I'll take your word on the tone, but I can at least say that looks fantastic. Quite a set of Pernambuco.

Bruce, I'm quite thrilled by your report on the tone of the P L-00. As you know, I have some incredible sounding guitars from you and some other of your renowned builder friends. I love the beauty of all my guitars but the true beauty is in the music that they produce. This is my first commission and I appear to have chosen correctly. Visually the guitar and woods are stunning. I can't bring myself to put a pick guard on that beautiful top. Just add the truss rod cover and send it my way! Can't wait to see how fit's in and compares to my other guitars.

I am frustrated that the words to describe this guitar are the same ones we use to describe any guitar. The words are inadequate is this case.

IM not so HO, bigger is better.

It is very difficult to overcome the usual laws of physics! Although VERY rarely it seems to happen with guitars. Bruce has built a few that qualify!!!

I find Bigger instruments more comfy as they often sit higher on my lap and require less hunching over.

Does this one have a subtle wedge? I know some of yours from last year's BIG fiesta had wedges and were easy to hold while sounding fantastic.

It sure is pretty! Keep them coming Bruce.

Looks beautiful Bruce and I also like this one with no pick guard although I always request a clear one if possible.

I was just having this conversation with a couple of folks the other day, what is it that makes that one guitar have just that little extra magic in it...the top and back woods just happen to work perfectly together, not the species, but those two particular pieces? Any extra swipe of the plane on the braces? Who knows, but sometimes there it is!

If this is that much better than the Penngrove, this is one heck of a fantastic guitar.

Congrats Rob! Bruce's high praise is a great thing to get. She is certainly a beaut but the proof will be how she tickles your ears. I look forward to your review. I am in heaven with my new FT-0! Hopes yours strikes you the same way.

Thanks Dennis. Congratulations on your FT-0 as well. It appears that Bruce has really upped his game since his procedure with the FT-0, Penngrove and now the Pernambuco L-00. All three have rave reviews and I'm looking forward to joining the 2020 Sexauer club with you and Tom.

Tom, your Penngrove looks amazing and glad to hear it's sound matches or exceeds it's visual beauty. My friend Robbypad raves about a Penngrove that he once owned so I'm quite intrigued. I hope to get back to Texas one day give it a spin.

Thanks Bob, I must say your guitar is stunning and was the inspiration behind my Spruce/Pernambuco L-00. Play it often in great health. Who knows maybe one day we will get to play them side by side.

Thanks, I wish it were mine, it was built for B.I.G. (er) which was cancelled and is only at my home until Robbypad takes it haha or goes back to Bruce. It is wonderful by the way.

Parallax makes the headstock shot in the last picture posting look out of proportion to me, and have have worked long and semi-hard to get the proportions right.

The first P I got, the infamous “crackwood”, is the other timber I used in the 7th fret inlay. I have used it again for the truss rod cover. This piece has burl in it.
