Rick Toone’s eyes and ears have guided his lutherie career in incredibly unique directions from day one. Here we’ve landed a fabulous example of that with a particular “remix” of his T2 model from 2014. The T2 Remix combines Tele-style curves with a sleek, modern aesthetic and hardware, here a partially chambered Swamp Ash body with a Toone & Townsend tuning system and custom DiMarzio pickups from Steve Blucher. The neck is CNC fabricated from anodized aircraft Aluminum, as are all of the other components designed by Toone. A multiscale setup of 24.625” to 25.625” mixes a crisp Strat bottom end with LP trebles for easy bends. Frets are stainless (of course). The Blucher/DiMarzio pickups are wired with a 5-way switch and Tone Styler (StellarTone) 10-position tone pot. You’ve got an ocean of tones to dive into here.
