Well, email John some hate mail and tell him to hurry up!

Next step requires custom-made style 30 purfling, so it’s going to take some time.

Making the purflings is certainly going to consume a lot of time and attention.
In writing my build thread on my Franklin Jumbo, I was constantly wanting to bug Nick for updates, and worried that if I did, I'd just be disturbing his workflow and delaying the build. I imagine you are in the same state of heightened anticipation that I'm in.
I have family living in Portland, ME so if I ever travel again to see them in person I'd love to visit John's shop.

I bug John all the time! He knows I’m irritating and prices my builds accordingly. Ha ha.

Seriously, I don’t know how he deals with the mental stress of having to deal with me.

John has been pretty diligent about searching the world for veneers and is experimenting with layups. This is his first revision. Pretty cool!

Every now and then my ego tells me that I'd make a pretty good guitar maker because of my attention to detail. And then I see things like this and realise that there's a whole other level involved! I can not imagine the patience that this must take. The outcome looks amazing though.

St. Slobod is working through a variety of layups with the goal of having colors that pop up close but that don't look too dark/muted or Christmas-themed from far away. It's pretty exciting to watch him assemble the various color combos to make a purfling that is truly custom and unique to him.
