_Mt Weissenborn Style
First off I've been 'lurking' for a while now... Absorbing technique and inspiration from the greats that roam these halls. Thank you for taking the time to share for all of us!!!
I'm not sure if this is the place for a amateur / hobby builder but I'll give it a go. Here is a pair of cedar topped Weissenborn style acoustic lap steel guitars. One is mahogany and the other local sycamore. They turned out and are hopefully growing into great instruments. A good friend of mine has the mahogany and the sycamore is in the hands of my guitar hero Kelly Joe Phelps. I have tons of process photos but don't think this is the place for it. Thanks for looking and let me know what you think. I'd like to start another pair and this time I'm thinking of double backs, pinless bridge, perimeter side ports (for the double back), and one 12string and the other a standard 6. Apologies for all the photos. I maxed it out... Best, _Mike Last edited by mtracz; 06-12-2012 at 06:49 AM. |

Thanks Royd!
I did buy the rest of the sycamore tree and plan on a pair after I finish the couple that I have on the bench now... They are a blast to play and I'm a little disappointed not to have held on to one for myself. But really, I don't know how many cases I need in my closet since I really am a hack of a player. They sure are fun to build! Thanks again, _Mike |
