BS is not bad if it is just something to add some flavour to something that is already top drawer. It's just bad when it is used to make something look like something it's not.

If I may, the main thing is not to forget it. Habit is powerful.

I will be watching this thread with interest. Great wood!

Cool

Does anyone have any experience with Moonspruce on a build? I'd love to hear your thoughts

Bruce is ready to go on this build, and has made the start "official" with his tracing of a left handed JB-15 body shape on the top. I believe this will be the first lefty multi-scale Bruce has built, and I'm sure it's the first one I've ever seen

Here are a couple pics of the rosette coming together. The second pic is one ring short of being complete as of last night. It will likely be ready to sand today, and should clean up rather nicely.

Bruce seems to be moving right along at his usual lightning fast pace... It's almost as if he's done this before

Here are a couple more shots of the completed rosette with a little hide glue loving added

A couple pics showing the beginnings of the Moon Spruce top bracing

I'm going with a 24.9"-25.4" which is slightly shorter than Bruce's more common multi-scale lengh of 25.1"-25.6". He has done at least one with a span of 24.1"-24.6" if I remember our conversation correctly.

I always seem to get caught on the side dots... I'm just finishing up a lefty SJ with a cutaway. as I was working on it I realized it's the first lefty cutaway I've ever made... didn't seem that different until I went to fit the neck.

I've heard that from several builders about the dots!
When John O built my lefties, I recall him having to keep reminding himself regarding the 'reverse' orientation throughout the build. His biggest frustration had to be NOT being able to actually 'play' the guitar when finished.

Nice backstripe there, Bruce!

The top bracing is now complete, and Bruce has begun working on the back bracing as well as starting to shape the sides. Updated pics below...
I love this picture! It looks just like a beautiful piece of art resting, and to think in a few more days it will never be seen again! (Hopefully)

The end blocks are being attached here.

Back braces are attached

Here is the 1st side bend starting to take shape. The excitement level is starting to rise right about now!
